roam with me
There’s a different energy in these hills when you stop to listen. Our wanders are guided by mutual respect for the land and the stories it holds. By seeking permission from the whenua before we step out, we turn a simple hike into an uplifting, safe, and deeply restorative experience.
we roam
These trails are for moderately fit people, they do entail walking uphill, sometimes jumping a fence or two. We can move at your pace, but you do need some fitness.
-
This is not for beginners.
-
This is just 6.5km return, an easy, yet sometimes steep stroll to the top to experience the majestic view and back again.
-
We go to the top and keep heading down the other side before we come back and re-trace our steps back home.
-
We roam the hills and then return for a meal.
the way we roam
We ask permission
Before we step on the whenua we state who we are and ask permission to walk freely.
We share our story
We offer our stories to the land and she gives her back.
We heal
These hikes are designed to heal us.
