your ancestors. Your path.

Mossfire started with a deep homesickness. I’m a white Australian who moved to Ōtautahi and made my home under the Port Hills, and for years I carried that ache alongside a colonial guilt I didn’t know what to do with.

My training with the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, and Silvia Federici’s history of enclosure and the witch trials, led me back to an earth tradition of my own. Our ancestors had commons, shared work, songs and a year shaped by the seasons. Enclosure, the witch trials and the church broke those ways, and the same machinery was carried across the world as colonisation.

Mossfire helps people look at that history honestly and find their way back to their own ancestors’ ways, adapted to the land they live on now. Standing in your own lineage is how you stand beside Māori and First Nations people of Australia. Understanding what was taken is where you can see how the system needs rebuilding, and as allies, this is our responsibility.

The Journey
A game, of sorts. You walk five hundred years backwards, from your own tired body in 2026 to the midwives of 1486, then turn around and practise your way home. It starts with the simplest thing there is. You sit down and watch.

Mossfire is for anyone who feels the pull of their ancestors and the wisdom that was never passed down. Grounded in real history, and practised on the land you stand on.
